Department of Linguistics

Coursework Degree Programs

Linguistics at Macquarie is especially strong in its array of vocationally-oriented, professionally-based postgraduate coursework programs. The Masters programs of study include:

The Department also offers Postgraduate Diplomas in:

Postgraduate Certificates are delivered in the areas of:

Where these areas of study are offered at Masters level as well as at Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma levels, they can form suites of courses through which students can progress. However, the Postgraduate Certificate of Translating and Interpreting (Community Interpretation) is a stand alone program and does not offer articulation into the Diploma.

Within each of these programs, spaces are limited, therefore, entry is competitive. Meeting eligibility criteria does not guarantee a place in the program.

All Postgraduate students who begin their program in or after 2012 are required to notify the University when they expect to complete the requirements of their award. This information is required to allow us to include you for assessment for completion eligibility.  If you do not notify us you will not be included in the assessment process which means that there will be a delay in your qualification and you may miss graduation. This can be done by submitting the form online via https://ask.mq.edu.au. A link is available on your 'My Stuff' page under the heading 'Graduation - I expect to complete'. Note: Please use Firefox or Google Chrome to access the site as Internet Explorer is not fully supported.

For more information on Graduation, please see this site: http://www.graduation.mq.edu.au/

Students who were admitted under the old curriculum (prior to 2012) do NOT need to submit the "I Expect to Complete - Postgraduate" form.
